Ok, which tactical / self defense hidden knife do you recommend?

I am right now looking at Ka Bar TDI, it has great reviews on it by many users. I like something small like that that are light weight and easy to carry, but extremely affective. Something you can hide under your shirt hanging from a neck, upper arm or ankle carry, etc, etc.....

Well, you are obviously into knives. Their myriad different designs are made for different functions and there is a limit to just how many knives one can in concealment carry. The Police/ Law Enforcement Section that you queried would probably tell you not to play with knives and view knives for carrying on themselves as Defensive tools only. The Military Section that you are in has an entirely different viewpoint as for them the knife is not for Defense at all, it is only a killing weapon.

As you appear to be speaking from the perspective of neither a law officer nor a commando, I assume you are looking at your 'problem' as a street person or survivalist.
It doesn't really matter what brand or knife design you use as each knife is only as good as the user. Armed with knives in a street fight with a knife-fighter, if he is better than you then you are mincemeat, if you are better than him then he is mincemeat. In the street environment he will probably have armed mates nearby and again, you are mincemeat. A street knife fight is usually a Zero-Sum game. How many fights can you enter before your luck runs out? Then there is the problem of bringing a knife to a gun fight.

For your survival in a mean world stopping at the knife level of weaponry, it would be good to have:

Small blades for cutting non-metal bonds kept in collar, wrist band, belt and ankle area.
A small hooking blade for slashing in close quarter rumbles.
A much longer two-edged blade for knife fighting. It must be able to cut, but more importantly, be able to stab. So long as it is well made, a quality blade and handle, the rest or fancy design doesn't matter. It should have a guard that can collect and hold onto the attacking knife's edge, not bounce it off.

The long blade is important in a knife fight. Size does matter. The tactical advantage of the knife is that it gains you distance and distance equates to greater 'speed' due to being closer to him while safer as your targets are further from his reach. In a rumble, body on body it doesn't matter who is faster, only who first gets the knife into a vital point.

If you think that knives make you safe, they don't, they only make you dangerous, which is not the same thing. It is your mind and the decisions that it makes that determines your level of safety. If you choose to roam in bad environments to test your courage or skill, eventually you will have neither, only, hopefully, someone who cares enough to tend to your grave.

This is not the 'What knife is best' answer that you are seeking, because I care about your survival, not how good and scary you look when you pull out your weapon. From my humble viewpoint, the weapon that needs sharpening for any combat situation, is not the tool that you carry, what needs sharpening is the brain and the senses that feed it whispers of danger while danger is still afar.

Your weapons sound great but when you finally get seriously attacked it will probably be when you cannot easily reach them: When you are struck from behind, or jammed in a crowd, or naked in a jail shower, or have your arms wrapped round your girl, or the gang surrounds you. Choosing to attack from a position of advantage is the sign of a sharpened brain. The brain is also a weapon, it is also a blade, and its choices can cut to ribbons an opponent armed with better and more blades. So the better armed fighter goes down. The best fighter is not the weapon, it is the man. Take a knife-fighting course, such as Kali teaches.
