Best way into private security job?
Im looking to get into a job involving security and am considering private security my goal. Im not sure of the best way in. Should I join the Marines and work my way from there? Maybe get a degree in a related field? Or should I just stay in the military and work my butt off to work my way up the ladder? Or should I join the Air Force and do a speciality job like Pararescue or Tactical Air Control Party where survival, fighting, weapons, and medical training are given?

The biggest question is what type of security do you want to do? Personal Security, Site Security? Your answer to that will determine what type of military training would most likely benefit you. And no, para rescue or tacp won't help. If you want to do site security, go AF, as security forces. It's basically the AF's version of cops... For personal security, go Army, Military Police. Just be aware that either job could get you deployed, and possibly injured to the point where you can't do anything afterwards. Your best bet is start small with a civilian company, and work your way up from there.
