I need answers about the military (ARMY)..I want real advice. Thank you!?

Well, Im choosing to join the Army and wanted to know what I should ask when I meet someone. My friend has helped me answers some of my concerns. I do not want to get deploy to another country because I want to be close to my family. My friend said that the Army does not give people who are joining an answer to where they are going to get deploy. But they give people a real answer until they are done with Boot Camp. My question is if I could request the Army to put in my contract the place Im going to get station? I want to be station in the United States. The job I am looking at is M25 Multimedia Illustration...Also what should ask for so I get a good contract. I am young, turning 19 in April. I graduated from High School with a Diploma.

Unfortunately, unless things have changed since October, the Army isn't offering choice of duty station for non prior service, I couldn't even get it when I was contemplating reenlisting. If you don't want to deploy, I wouldn't join, there is a 100% chance you are going to deploy before you ETS. I was active for 4 years and deployed 2x. I don't care what they say, the Army is not family friendly, especially during war time. I would just go talk to a recruiter, see what they are offering and see if it's still appealing. Whatever they say that does interest you, make sure you see it in print, on your contract before you sign. Also, you might consider the Air Force, it sounds more of what you are looking for.
